As is widely known, his 1982 album Thriller was not only his best selling album, certified an astonishing 28 times platinum by the RIAA, but it goes down in music history as the best selling album of all time, with worldwide sales of more than 50 million. The album, produced by Quincy Jones, won eight Grammy Awards in 1983. It produced the hit singles: The Girl Is Mine, Billie Jean, Beat It and Say, Say, Say. Additionally, the album Thriller was added to the to the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress as it has been assessed as “culturally significant.” The album was reissued as Thriller 25 in 2008.
