David Cook Dating Kimberly Caldwell?

Is an Idol Alum Romance Blooming?

Previous American Idol contestant Kimberly Caldwell from season 2 did not manage to win the show, but she has done the next best thing, by dating the winner of the 2008 show David Cook. The couple has been seen out going to dinner; ...

So, barely a week into his stint as the reigning American Idol, David Cook is apparently off the market. Yes, ladies, it's true. TMZ broke the story over the weekend with video of David Cook exiting an LA restaurant with Kimberly Caldwell. He went further by talking about it on the Regis and Kelly show, adding that they may even "hang out again".

You may remember Kimberly from season 2 of American Idol when she finished in 7th place (Ruben Studdard went on to win that season). Since then, the 26-year-old blond has been a presenter on TV Guide and an American Idol correspondent for Fox News. Last week on the American Idol finale red carpet, she and Justin Guarini were interviewing the two Davids, Cook and Archuleta, when David C gave her a flower and asked her out to dinner on live TV, saying that he'd heard she said a lot of nice things about him all season. Ms Caldwell immediately accepted the invitation (like any red-blooded sane woman would).

Earlier this season, David was rumored to be dating So You Think You Can Dance alum, Lacey Schwimmer, who is the cousin of Friends star David Schwimmer. The two had reportedly met during rehearsals for the Idol Gives Back special, in which the SYTYCD troupe danced to an Idol group performance. However, during a home viewer call-in session on the results show that week, David went on record to admit that he was very much single.

This latest romance is definitely more than just a rumor though. This week on Regis and Kelly, David seemed to have no problems talking about his date and how it went when asked about it, even telling the audience where they went for dinner. Is that the collective sound of a million hearts breaking in the background?

Director Sydney Pollack dies of cancer

Academy Award-winning director Sydney Pollack, who achieved commercial and critical success with the gender-bending comedy "Tootsie" and the period drama "Out of Africa, has died. He was 73.

Pollack died of cancer Monday afternoon at his home in Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, surrounded by family, said agent Leslee Dart. He had been diagnosed with cancer about nine months ago, said Dart.

Pollack, who often appeared on the screen himself, worked with and gained the respect of Hollywood's best actors in a long career that reached prominence in the 1970s and 1980s.

"Sydney made the world a little better, movies a little better and even dinner a little better. A tip of the hat to a class act," actor George Clooney said in a statement issued by his publicist. Video Watch how Pollack's career spanned decades »

"He'll be missed terribly," Clooney said.

Last fall, Pollack played Marty Bach opposite Clooney in "Michael Clayton," a drama that examines the life of a fixer for lawyers. The film, which Pollack co-produced, received seven Oscar nominations, including best picture and a best actor nod for Clooney.

Pollack was no stranger to the Academy Awards. In 1986, "Out of Africa" a romantic epic of a woman's passion set against the landscape of colonial Kenya, captured seven Oscars, including best director.

Over the years, several of his other films, including "Tootsie" and "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" got several nominations, including best director nods.

Pollack's last screen appearance was in "Made of Honor," a romantic comedy currently in theaters, where he played the oft-married father of star Patrick Dempsey's character.

In recent years, Pollack produced many independent films with filmmaker Anthony Minghella and the production company Mirage Enterprises.

The Lafayette, Indiana, native was born to first-generation Russian-Americans.

In high school, he fell in love with theater, a passion that prompted him to forgo college and move to New York and enroll in the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater.

"We started together in New York and he always excelled at everything he set out to do, his friendships and his humanity as much as his talents," Martin Landau, a longtime close friend of Pollack's and an associate from the Actor's Studio, said through spokesman Dick Guttman.

Studying under Sanford Meisner, Pollack spent several years cutting his teeth in various areas of theater, eventually becoming Meisner's assistant.

After appearing in a handful of Broadway productions in the 1950s, Pollack turned his eye to directing.

Pollack is survived by his wife, Claire; two daughters, Rebecca and Rachel; his brother Bernie; and six grandchildren.

A tribute to Robert Knox

Harry Potter actor Robert Knox stabbed to death

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince actor Robert Knox was stabbed to death after an attempt to save his brother from a knife attack in Kent, southeast England.

It is said that 18-year-old Knox, who will be seen on the big screen as wizard Marcus Belby, sustained multiple stab wounds on Friday night (May 23) after becoming involved in an argument with two armed men who had threatened his 17-year-old brother Jamie.

The whole incident had started because of a stolen cell phone and took place at the Metro Bar in Sidcup, Kent, where besides the young actor, four other men were stabbed.

Knox was immediately rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, southeast London , but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police have started their inquiries into the murder.

'At this early stage, we retain an open mind as to any motive, and inquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident. We do not believe the incident is gang-related,' Contactmusic quoted a spokesperson for the authorities as saying.

Meanwhile the executives at Warner Bros. Studio, which produces the Harry Potter movies, released a statement expressing their condolences to Knox's relatives.

'We are all shocked and saddened by this news and at this time out sympathies are with his family,' the statement read.

Indy 500: Milka Duno spins out for race's eighth caution.

Milka Duno did a nice job staying on the lead lap for most of the race before spinning out to bring out the eighth caution of the race with a little more than 30 laps left. Duno was the last car on the lead lap at the time.

I give Milka some credit. She really hadn't shown me anything to prove she was worthy of competing in a major auto racing series until Sunday. Given the right equipment, Milka just might have what it takes to make a name for herself other than her looks.

Roadtrip: Indy 500 Preview

Memorial Day weekend means Indy. To people around LA, that's one daring archaeologist. To the rest of America, it's 33 daring drivers.

The Indianapolis 500 starts at 10 a.m. (Pacific) this morning in the world's largest spectator sporting facility. With over 250,000 seats, the track has almost triple the capacity of the Coliseum or Rose Bowl. Expectations are high this weekend thanks to the unification of two rival auto racing series. LA Times columnist Bill Dwyre calls it "the first real running of the Indianapolis 500 in 12 years."

This Angelino decided to check one off the bucket list and sojourn to the Brickyard. Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Calabasas anymore. Wheatgrass? Pinkberry? Pilates? Ha. A real Indy experience means camping on the grass, downing a few corndogs, and racing go carts.

I'll be sharing more about the roadtrip once the checkered flag waves. Until then, flip on ABC (channel 7 is KABC-Los Angeles) at 9 a.m. Pacific for the Pre-Race show. An hour later, Scott Dixon, Dan Wheldon, Helio Castroneves, Tony Kanaan, and fan favorite Danica Patrick will see the green flag.

For more on the race's top story lines, check out Dwyre's column on Roger Penske's quest for win #300 and the Skip Myslenski's profile of Danica Patrick. Lonnie White has your Vegas odds.

Woodstock museum to open June 2

Woodstock museum to open:

A museum is opening June 2 at the site of the 1969 Woodstock concert.

The Museum at Bethel Woods, about 90 minutes north of New York City, will offer exhibits, personal stories, multimedia experiences and programs about the 1960s focusing on everything from music and fashion to political protest.
The original three-day festival epitomized the era's "sex, drugs and rock'n'roll" counterculture while drawing 400,000 people to hear Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, the Who and many other performers.

The Museum at Bethel Woods is part of the larger Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, an outdoor performing arts center and complex with an eclectic concert series and other events. Performers scheduled for this summer include a "True Colors" show with Cyndi Lauper and The B-52s, Ringo Starr, the New York Philharmonic, Donna Summer, The Klezmatics, the Boston Pops and many others. Prepping for the Cavaliers: Orange Takes the Field at Gillette Stadium Friday Morning

The third-seeded Syracuse men's lacrosse team took to the practice field today at Gillette Stadium in preparation for Saturday's semifinal contest against second-seeded Virginia. The Orange and Cavaliers tangle at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
Syracuse hit the turf at the home of the New England Patriots at 11:30 a.m., practicing for the allotted 75 minutes allowed by the NCAA. Head coach John Desko, in his 10th season at the helm for the Orange, addressed the squad before monitoring team warm-up drills, six-on-six situations and simulated man-up scenarios.
Syracuse, an 11-9 winner against sixth-seeded Notre Dame in the NCAA quarterfinal round on May 18, is looking to avenge a 14-13 overtime loss against Virginia on March 1 in the Face-Off Classic in Baltimore, Md. The Cavaliers advanced to the semifinal round following an 8-7 overtime victory against ACC foe Maryland on May 17.
The Orange and Cavaliers precede the day's second semifinal pairing, featuring top-seeded Duke and fifth-seeded Johns Hopkins in a rematch of the 2005 and 2007 title games. The Blue Devils and Blue Jays are set to start at 2:30 p.m.

Whitefence.com: Save Money the Easy Way

Initially whitefence.com would seem to be a simple tool for finding cheep internet and cable service. Whitefence.com offers the same services that hotwire.com or expedia.com gives to the travel industry, calculating rates and offering quotes from various different providers. Today we see more and more of these sites popping up on the web such as lendingtree.com and their quotes from different banks. The idea being that a single website can take all the hassle out of searching for inexpensive utilities, amenities, or mortgage rates.

Whitefence.com is actually an impressive layout with a variety of services offered. Initially this CP searched for cable and internet rates, having a previous knowledge of the rates of this area and finding whitefence.com to be accurate with what is offered locally. With the simple input of a street address and zip code whitefence.com offers rates on everything from internet services, and local utilities, to renter's insurance and pest control. Whitefence.com also offers specials from different service providers including discounts and free channels and perks which would otherwise be extra. The layout of the site is simple and easy to use and joining the site is not necessary in order to see the rates which are offered, this may sound common, but the majority of sites of this nature and caliber offer only small glimpses as to what is actually offered.

Overall the site's easy layout, quick usage, and various features make it a reliable and accurate tool which can prove invaluable to homeowners or renters, and especially useful to persons moving to an unfamiliar area and needing these essential services. However there are some other tips which you can use without the use of whitefence.com or its partner sites.

Whistler’s Mother

Whistler’s Mother, aka Arrangement in Grey and Black: The Artist’s Mother, is an 1871 oil-on-canvas painting by American-born painter James McNeill Whistler.

Whistler’s Mother Anna Whistler acted as a replacement for another model who fell ill and couldn’t make the appointment. Whistler’s mother initially stood for the painting but has to sit as she was too uncomfortable to pose standing for an extended period.

The painting is 56.81 x 63.94 inches (144.3 x 162.4 cm), displayed in a frame of Whistler’s own design, and is now owned by the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.

Project Compassion

Project Compassion is a non-profit group dedicated to painting portraits of every fallen soldier since September 11, 2001. (Courtesy Project Compassion)

This Memorial Day weekend, a story about gifts to the family members of fallen soldiers from a non-profit service has emerged. Project Compassion is "a nonprofit organization dedicated to painting every American military service member who has died on active duty since the September 11, 2001, attacks."

The founder, an artist by the name of Kaziah Hancock, has dedicated herself to this project since 2003 and so far, the organization has given greiving families over 1,000 portraits, free of charge.

"As sobering as these milestones are, for Project Compassion our 1,000th hero portrait represents 1,000 thank yous on behalf of all Americans," said Marie Woolf, CEO and executive director of Project Compassion. "A thousand times so far, we at Project Compassion have proven that even as war is the most destructive force we presently know, love is the most quietly creative force we know—and for us, that means healing through art."

Hancock's first portrait was inspired by a radio program about a soldier from her home state of Utah who had just been killed. She contacted the family and asked if she could paint his portrait.

"…Just from one American to another. Just to say 'I love you guys, you're beautiful and here's something to honor your precious son,' " Hancock said.

From there, Hancock found that she couldn't stop painting, and committed herself to painting the portrait of every fallen soldier.

Maxine Waters: Socialize the Oil Companies

Now, if the US government and the Democrats like Ms. Waters were truly interested in erasing the oil companies’ record profits and helping the American consumers, then they would be doing everything they could to increase oil and gasoline production so as to saturate the market. The price of oil and gasoline would then drop through the floor. Remember when oil was $8 a barrel and gasoline was a mere $.95? Oil companies were merging left and right because they couldn’t stay in business on their own and the price of gas wasn’t on the American people’s radar. If punishing the oil companies is truly what Democrats like Maxine Waters really want to do, then they would glut the market. They would change the law so that the supply of oil and gasoline vastly outpaced demand and oil and gas prices dropped.

But they won’t do that because they don’t care about the American consumers. They don’t want the American people using more oil or gasoline. They want the American people to hurt at the pump so they don’t drive as much. Why? Because Democrats actually think the America people are the problem in all of this to begin with.

Florida Mother Brenda Sullivan Sentenced to 20 Years for Keeping 17-Year-Old Son Locked in Cage

Brenda Sullivan was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Thursday after pleading guilty to three counts of aggravated child abuse in January.

The charges were filed in 2005 after child welfare workers found Sullivan’s 17-year-old adopted son locked in a cage inside the family’s house. Sullivan was accused of child neglect but that charge had been dropped despite her son weighing just 49 pounds.

Sullivan and her husband had also adopted twins and the 13-year-olds had testified they were kept in similar cages. Sullivan’s husband died while awaiting trial.

Maxine Waters: Socialize the Oil Companies

Maxine was obviously miffed when an oil company executive told her the truth so she said "this liberal" just might take the oil companies away from the mean companies and the GOVERNMENT would run them......Oh yes, lets have the US Congress run the oil companies...thats the ticket. Did Steve Cohen, in the background, nod yes in agreement?

Curbstoning Scams

Cubstoners are trying to get around the law by selling their cars on the street by pretending to be private sellers

Curbstoning is the practice of auto dealers masquerading as private parties when selling their cars. Curbstoning car dealers use the practice as a way to sell inferior cars to unsuspecting consumers. There is probably a street or parking area near your residence where there are numerous cars for sale. Many of these cars are placed in public view by "curbstoners", so named because they are parking the cars along a curb. Many of these curbstoned cars may very well be lemons car dealers can't sell on their lots.

Crooked auto dealers use curbstoning as a way to circumvent state laws regarding the sale of cars. States have limits regarding how many cars a person may buy and sell in a given period without having to be a licensed car dealer. Licensed car dealers have requirements that they have to meet to stay in business. Curbstoners do not.

The Internet is mass producing a new crop of curbstoners

The Internet is proving to be fertile ground for curbstoners. The Web makes it very easy for sellers to conceal both their identity and location from buyers and government agencies that try to track them. Auction giant eBay ( www.ebay.com ) has become the favorite stomping ground for people looking to scam unsuspecting buyers.

How curbstoning scams work

Before a curbstoner can scam a buyer, they must have a lousy car to sell. These cars are typically acquired at the low rent auto auctions held at wrecking yards and towing company impound lots. These cars are then "readied" for sale which is to say that they are made to look like a decent car despite numerous problems.

Many of the cars are placed on eBay ( www.ebay.com ), but they can also appear at autotrader.com ( www.autotrader.com ) and other similar sites. These scammers use many other scamming techniques while conducting their online sales with affinity fraud being one of the more popular methods. Another popular tactic is to use low-resolution photos. Poor quality photos easily hide cracked windshields, dents, rust, scratches, and faded paint.

Curbstoning - What is it?

Well, Curbstoning is when a seller tries to sell a salvaged vehicle, claiming that the vehicle is actually something ti is not. Often times the seller will file away the vehicles Vin number, as well as repaid the vehicle with the front end of another newer vehicle.

curbstoning camaro

An example of Curbstoning would be:

Bob, wants to sell his 1985 Chevy Camaro for $4000. The car was in a flood, and has serious rust damage. He replaces some key body parts with parts from a 1987 Camaro, files off the vin number and posts an ad on craigslist for a 1987 Camaro forsale at $4000.

Curbstoning is illegal and one can be charged with a felony for participating in such an act.

Memorial Day weekend to bring taste of summer

“I think it’s going to be a very good Memorial weekend,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Considine. “It seems so often that Memorial weekend tends to be rainy and cool, but this weekend seems to be much better than we’ve seen in the past.”

The weekend forecast calls for high temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to the upper-70s. Today’s high will be in the mid-60s and partly sunny with a low around 50.

Saturday will be more of the same with highs in the upper-60s, sunny skies and a low around 50.

Sunday should be the best of what will be a four-day weekend for many people, with a high in the mid- to upper-70s and sunshine. The overnight low will be around 60 degrees, making it the perfect night to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends.

“Sunday night into Monday doesn’t look nearly as cool in terms of nighttime temperatures,” said Considine. “It’s going to feel a little more summer-like on Sunday and Monday.”

Monday’s Memorial Day brings a 50% chance of thunderstorms but the high will be in the high 70s with a low of around 55 degrees. Despite the possibility of T-storms, Considine advised people not to cancel their holiday plans just yet.

“It doesn’t necessarily mean Monday could be a washout,” he said. “It looks as though we might have a chance of seeing a noon or evening rainstorm but it doesn’t mean the entire day is going to be rainy.”

Caught On Tape: Colorado Tornado

A huge tornado touched down Thursday in Weld County, Colorado.

A KUSA news crew got uncomfortably close to the storm as it moved across a highway near the town of Greeley, 45 miles north of Denver.

Reporter Adam Chodak and photojournalist Gary Wolf saw the tornado pass by them, right over Highway 34.

The massive storm rained down large size hail and demolished several buildings.
At least one person was killed in the storm.

George Michael, Donna Summers, Bryan Adams light up American Idol finale

On a night when "American Idol" viewers were focused on two young singers named David — Cook and Archuleta — the Fox singing competition's seventh-season conclusion had plenty of appearances from a few older idols.Perhaps the most notable was a George Michael medley saved for the very end, featuring Michael himself and the top 12 "Idol" finalists.Among the duets: Cook performed "Sharp Dressed Man" with his Les Paul guitar alongside ZZ Top before being crowned winner. Runner-up Archuleta was teamed up with OneRepublic for "Apologize." Third-place finalist Syesha Mercado joined Seal on his song "Waiting for You." And Graham Nash and Brooke White went acoustic on "Teach Your Children."Nash — of Crosby, Stills and Nash fame — praised White backstage and proclaimed that the fifth-place finalist was ready to go the next level. Before Cook was revealed as the latest "Idol" winner, Nash said he thought Archuleta would take home the title because he "poured his heart and soul" into his rendition of "Imagine" during Tuesday's final performance show."
Both of these Davids are going to make a fortune, as they should," the 66-year-old singer-songwriter told reporters backstage. The finalists also performed medleys with a few old timers. The top six male singers were teamed up with Bryan Adams, while the top six female contestants were partnered with Donna Summers. Their routine featured the disco diva singing her new song "Stamp Your Feet" for the first time in front of an audience. So what's it like for a legend to perform with on the "Idol" youngsters?
"Wooo!" Summers exclaimed in the press room. "It's like getting adrenaline put in your veins!"

David Cook wins ’American Idol’

It was a good American Idol Season 7 Finale. Both contestants, David Archuleta and David Cook, did well. However, David Archuleta came out on top. He came to win! And I agree with Simon, David Archuleta won Round 1, 2, and 3! David Cook started off strong but in Round 2 he started slipping and it looked as if David Cook gave up the fight in Round 3.

May 21. American Idol is rigged. Ryan Seacrest announced earlier in the show that 97.5 million votes came in. He said that this smashed the record by over 26 million. At the end of the show when Seacrest announced the winner he prefaced it by saying the the winner won by 12 million votes over the other contestant. Now, based on their performances last night and the fact that age group that does most of the voting in this "new media" age you just know that the winner had to be "David Archuleta." However, they had to give us a shocker at the end of the season and have Ryan Seacrest announce the next American Idol as David Cook. David Cook is a great singer but I don't believe for one minute that most of the votes went to him.

Check out the video clips, below:

Ryan Seacrest announcing David Cook as the winner:

FINAL COMPETITION
ROUND 1
David Cook - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For

David Archuleta - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

ROUND 2
David Cook - Dream Big

David Archuleta - In This Moment

ROUND 3
David Cook - World I Know

David Archuleta - Imagine

US Sen. Kennedy has malignant brain tumor

Edward Kennedy, the brother of assassinated President John F. Kennedy and the elder statesman of American liberal politics, has a malignant brain tumor, his doctors said on Tuesday.Kennedy, 76, who has been hospitalized in Boston since he had a seizure on Saturday, will likely need chemotherapy and radiation therapy to treat the glioma, a type of tumor that usually kills within three years.A brief statement by Dr. Lee Schwamm of Massachusetts General Hospital and Dr. Larry Ronan, a primary physician there, did not give details on Kennedy's diagnosis or outlook and did not mention the possibility of surgically removing the tumor -- the best hope for longer survival."Preliminary results from a biopsy of the brain identified the cause of the seizure as a malignant glioma in the left parietal lobe. The usual course of treatment includes combinations of various forms of radiation and chemotherapy," the statement said."Decisions regarding the best course of treatment for Senator Kennedy will be determined after further testing and analysis," it said. They doctors said Kennedy would remain at the hospital for the next couple of days and added: "He remains in good spirits and full of energy."Other experts called the diagnosis a serious one and agreed the tumor would very likely kill Kennedy.Kennedy, who has been a senator for 46 years, is one of the most respected figures in U.S. politics and news of his condition prompted a wave of shock and sympathy in Washington."We're pulling for our pal. And I know he is determined to fight this," said fellow Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, like Kennedy a former presidential candidate.President George W. Bush, a Republican with many opposing political views but who worked with Kennedy on a major education bill, called him a "man of tremendous courage, remarkable strength, and powerful spirit" and said: "We join our fellow Americans in praying for his full recovery."

Kennedy diagnosed with malignant brain tumor

Senator Edward Kennedy, the longtime Massachusetts Democrat and head of the Kennedy family, has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, his doctors said.
Doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston who were investigating the cause of a seizure that Kennedy, 76, suffered at his Cape Cod compound on Saturday, said Tuesday that preliminary results from a biopsy of the brain had revealed that the senator has a malignant glioma in the left parietal lobe, the upper left part of his brain.
Dr. Lee Schwamm, the hospital's vice chairman of neurology, and Dr. Larry Ronan, Kennedy's primary-care physician at the hospital, said in a statement that "the usual course of treatment includes combinations of various forms of radiation and chemotherapy." Decisions on treatment, he said, will be determined after further testing and analysis.
News of the brain tumor surprised people in Washington, in Massachusetts and beyond, generating reaction from around the world, where Kennedy's family legacy and his 46 years in the Senate have made him a well-known figure.
Aside from an unsuccessful run for president in 1980, Kennedy, known as Ted, has focused his energy on issues such as health care, education and civil rights. Despite his liberal ideology and occasional loud clashes on the Senate floor, Kennedy is held in high esteem by Republicans for his determination, understanding of issues and willingness to work in a bipartisan fashion.

"Senator Kennedy enjoys great respect and admiration on this side of the aisle," said Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader. "He is indeed one of the most important figures to ever serve in this body in our history."
In a statement, President George W. Bush said, "Ted Kennedy is a man of tremendous courage, remarkable strength, and powerful spirit." Bush said he and his wife, Laura, "join our fellow Americans in praying for his full recovery."
Doctors and people close to Kennedy said he would remain in the hospital for the next couple of days. The doctors said he was "in overall good condition." He has not had another seizure since he was hospitalized, they said.
"Right now, he's his normal self, except for the news that he's dealing with," said a close friend who spoke on the condition of anonymity. "I bet he'll be back at the Cape sailing this weekend."
Malignant glioma is the most common form of brain cancer, accounting for about 9,000 cases diagnosed each year in the United States alone, according to the National Cancer Institute. They are more common in older people, especially those between 75 and 84, according to the American Cancer Society.
The prognosis varies depending on the type and severity of the tumor, and the patient's age.
Dr. Patrick Wen, clinical director of the Center for Neuro-Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, said the average prognosis for the most aggressive type of tumor is 14 months to 15 months, while the prognosis for slower-growing tumors is two years to four years.
"This is a sad situation," Wen said, adding that such tumors can sometimes affect sensation, speech or vision, and that tumors in older people tend to be more difficult to treat. "These are, unfortunately, aggressive tumors."
Alain Charest, an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Tufts Medical Center, said if the tumor could be removed surgically, doctors would do so, although gliomas are difficult to remove.
Senator John Kerry, the junior senator of Massachusetts, also a Democrat, said he had visited Kennedy over the weekend.
"He's in a fighting mood," Kerry said. "He is asking questions about what the choices are for him. He's deeply involved in making all the kinds of personal decisions that any of you would."
Pam Belluck reported from Boston, Carl Hulse from Washington. Katie Zezima contributed reporting from Boston.

Who Won American Idol? David Cook or David Archuleta?

David Archuleta basically claimed the title of "American Idol" on Tuesday night with three amazing performances pouncing over competition David Cook.
The two Davids each sang three songs. The first was chosen by Clive Davis, the second was their choice for song contest winner and the third was the contestant's favorite.
All of the judges seemed to agree that David Archuleta will likely take home the "American Idol" title, but David Cook definitely held his own.
Archuleta clearly deserves to win "Idol," but I bet both Davids will get a recording contract.
