George Michael, Donna Summers, Bryan Adams light up American Idol finale

On a night when "American Idol" viewers were focused on two young singers named David — Cook and Archuleta — the Fox singing competition's seventh-season conclusion had plenty of appearances from a few older idols.Perhaps the most notable was a George Michael medley saved for the very end, featuring Michael himself and the top 12 "Idol" finalists.Among the duets: Cook performed "Sharp Dressed Man" with his Les Paul guitar alongside ZZ Top before being crowned winner. Runner-up Archuleta was teamed up with OneRepublic for "Apologize." Third-place finalist Syesha Mercado joined Seal on his song "Waiting for You." And Graham Nash and Brooke White went acoustic on "Teach Your Children."Nash — of Crosby, Stills and Nash fame — praised White backstage and proclaimed that the fifth-place finalist was ready to go the next level. Before Cook was revealed as the latest "Idol" winner, Nash said he thought Archuleta would take home the title because he "poured his heart and soul" into his rendition of "Imagine" during Tuesday's final performance show."
Both of these Davids are going to make a fortune, as they should," the 66-year-old singer-songwriter told reporters backstage. The finalists also performed medleys with a few old timers. The top six male singers were teamed up with Bryan Adams, while the top six female contestants were partnered with Donna Summers. Their routine featured the disco diva singing her new song "Stamp Your Feet" for the first time in front of an audience. So what's it like for a legend to perform with on the "Idol" youngsters?
"Wooo!" Summers exclaimed in the press room. "It's like getting adrenaline put in your veins!"
