Prepping for the Cavaliers: Orange Takes the Field at Gillette Stadium Friday Morning

The third-seeded Syracuse men's lacrosse team took to the practice field today at Gillette Stadium in preparation for Saturday's semifinal contest against second-seeded Virginia. The Orange and Cavaliers tangle at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
Syracuse hit the turf at the home of the New England Patriots at 11:30 a.m., practicing for the allotted 75 minutes allowed by the NCAA. Head coach John Desko, in his 10th season at the helm for the Orange, addressed the squad before monitoring team warm-up drills, six-on-six situations and simulated man-up scenarios.
Syracuse, an 11-9 winner against sixth-seeded Notre Dame in the NCAA quarterfinal round on May 18, is looking to avenge a 14-13 overtime loss against Virginia on March 1 in the Face-Off Classic in Baltimore, Md. The Cavaliers advanced to the semifinal round following an 8-7 overtime victory against ACC foe Maryland on May 17.
The Orange and Cavaliers precede the day's second semifinal pairing, featuring top-seeded Duke and fifth-seeded Johns Hopkins in a rematch of the 2005 and 2007 title games. The Blue Devils and Blue Jays are set to start at 2:30 p.m.
